At Darzau we are only working with naked/hulless spring oat for organic farming. We are selecting in particular varieties with resistance to loose smut to manage continuos organic seed multiplication on a practical farm level. Our next breeding step is given to hairless and shortened grain without any hulls. Last not least the kernels should be shiny and tastefull with a high sprouting resistance.

We offer doing yield trials with spring oat (the normal hulled type of oat) under organic farming conditions to scientists and breeders interested in getting results from our environment. We prefer vice versa cooperations, in which we can deliver spring barley (hulless and hulled) for testing at your location. But we can also do trials by order and for account, if they are of interest for organic farming.
